After a ten year hiatus, CL Smooth is readying listeners for his first solo LP. Better known for his legendary work with producer, Pete Rock, CL made waves after releasing a freestyle entitled “Multi Bars of Fury”.

The 16 track LP, American Me, will be released on Shaman Work Recordings on Sept 19 and will feature production from Arsonist of the Heatmakerz and Kaygee from Naughty by Nature.

“American Me is about misconceptions. It ‘s about the things people say, the things people perceive, right or wrong it’s about the speculations that we force on each other,” CL said, “I am spelling it out, politically and personally. I’m bringing the real deal, in spite of everyone and everything else. My lyricism isn’t about brute force; instead it showcases what I’ve come up against and why I’m still here.”
