Busta’s custody battle has come to a close and his ex has launched a scathing attack in the New York Post. In case you missed the story, here’s some background:

Busta Rhymes had three kids with his high-school sweetheart Joanne Wood. Their relationship lasted ten years until Wood came out of the closet and announced she is a lesbian. This began what the New York Post has called “one of the nastiest four-year custody battles in hip-hop history - rife with allegations she had lesbian sex in front of their children, that she does drugs in the house and that she’s an absentee mom.”

In an extensive interview with the NY Post, Joanne Wood speculated Busta’s hatred toward her began when she challeneged his manhood, leaving him for a woman.

“His ego is definitely hurt,” she said. “If he’s being emotional, then let him just be emotional - that’s like the bitch in him. If you want to be emotional, I don’t have a problem with that,” but “he’s wearing his emotions on his sleeve.”

Busta won the long custody battle, after Judge Burton Joseph in Nassau County Family Court ruled he was a more fit parent. His children, T’Ziah, 13, T’Khi, 6, and Trillian, 5 are currently living with his parents while Busta tours to support his latest album, The Big Bang.

In related news, The Big Bang is still selling well, holding the number 5 position on Billboard’s albums chart after its third week racked up 68,600 scans. The album has moved around 278,000 units so far.
