“I wasn’t true to myself [on The Prequel] for the simple fact that, look at who I was working with,” Method Man said to MTV, “I’m not trying to take nothing way from Puff, he’s the biggest artist on Bad Boy. But Puff with Meth don’t mesh. We don’t party the same way.”

After the critically dismal effort on Tical O: The Prequel, Method Man is back with his fourth solo LP entitled 4:21…The Day After, which will be released August 22nd [previously July 25th].

“The national weed smoking day is 4/20, so I named my album 4/21 the day after. Because after that day, you have this moment of clarity when you’re not high and you see things clearly,” Meth said, “You feel like you’re not in on the joke, and everyone’s laughing at you. I felt like no one was taking me seriously. I got real angry and I just starting writing.”

The album will feature production from Dr Dre, Scott Storch, RZA, Eric Sermon and Havoc from Mobb Deep. Lauren Hill appears on the first single, Say; with guests Fat Joe and Styles P on the the track, Yah Mean.

DefJam.com is streaming a track off the LP every week before the release.

Update

Check out this Method Man video interview with The Breakdown TV where he takes shots at and ’s promotion and development of rappers compared to RnB singers. “They’ll take a , they’ll take a Rihanna and develop them. They don’t do that with us rappers. You know why? They look at us as fast food.”
