T.I. talks to MTV

In a recent interview with MTV, King of the South rapper T.I. revealed upcoming collaborations with Beyonce and Justin Timberlake for his new album; the latter featuring production from beat-maker, Timbaland.

Alongside such pop royalty will be Young Jeezy and Young Buck, as well as Grand Hustle affiliates, Big Kuntry and Governor.

Still promoting his album, King, which debuted at No.1 in March, Tip has just finished a video for Live In The Sky with Jamie Foxx. “It’s about the trials and tribulations that I’ve been through from the life I used to live to the life I’m now fortunate enough to live,” T.I. said. “And just paying respect to my cousin and some of my homeboys that didn’t make it to see the day and one of my friends who is doing life right now.”

He is also working on a new LP entitled T.I. vs Tip and a follow-up to the movie, ATL. “I have a lot of opportunities to stand alongside some very heavy hitters in the film industry, and I plan to take full advantage.”

Look out for T.I. on the first single from Young Dro’s Grand Hustle debut, Best Thang Smokin’, called Shoulder Lean.

T.I. said this while accepting the Best Male HipHop Artist award at the BET Awards on Tuesday, “This is a lot of hard work paying off,” he said. “This award — every award and every song and every album, every project Grand Hustle releases now from now on — is dedicated to my homeboy Philant.”

His personal assistant and lifelong friend, Philant Johnson, was killed last month in a shooting after a T.I show. Read here.
