Ras Kass Vs The Game

Last week California’s Ras Kass and ex-Gunit member, The Game, had an altercation in a Los Angeles nightclub. Since then GroundUp has just been sitting back watching the whole thing snowball and Ras emerge as an MC eager for a diss-track release.

I think at this stage it’s clear Ras Kass needs a life.

The story is Game approaches Ras during the end of the night to get an explanation for a line in one of his freestyles [Caution] from a year ago that mentions Game’s son. “Get a thousand tattoos and won’t raise your gun / So when you get merked, I’ma raise your son.” Ras has since assured listeners the track was not directed at Game.

“The track Caution that I wrote and recorded is not directed towards any artist. It’s a general statement. If the shoe fits, find a matching skirt,” Ras Kass said last year. “When I do diss somebody, I certainly wouldn’t bring their children into it.”

Last week Ras had been on tour with Rakim and Kid Kapri when he was approached by Game and what he claims to be an entourage of 30 people.

“The n—- tried to jump me 30 to 2, yet I’m alive and chillin’,” Ras Kass said. “My sweater is still white and all my jewelry intact. Game is a ‘Change Of Heart,’ stripping, fake-ass blood, who sold some records riding Dr Dre’s shirt tails.”

I guess he thought this would help him sell some more records. I was so unfazed by it all that I went up to his car afterwards and challenged him right there. Game is no match for me physically or lyrically.

Game responded very soon after saying, “Ain’t nobody hit that dude but me; he’s crazy talking about 30 people. I seen the n—- in the club. I walked up to him in the club and it was my man’s birthday, so I didn’t want to mess up his party. When the lights came on, at the end I asked him about the freestyle. He said it wasn’t nothing, but he started in on that ‘it’s whatever I’m Ras Kass,’ and punched him in the face before he could finish.”

Game has also stated that the one punch laid Ras out, who had to be dragged out of the club, and that his statements since have been made up.

At this time neither rapper had any intention of continuing the beef, on wax or any other form. Ras Kass said “He can sell records on his own dime,” while Game explained “It don’t benefit me to mess with these kinds of small cats, Ras Kass’ career is over. I ended it with that one punch last night.”

Since then things have changed.

Ras has been talking to SOHH.com saying things like, “Let’s clear this up. Game did not kick my ass. He tried to jump me with his homeboys and didn’t do much. I still got my watch, my chain, my earrings.”

“When we jump niggas, we take everything…cause that’s embarrassing.You’re embarrassing niggas. So you know, Game tried and really didn’t do that well.”

“How tall is the Game, maybe 6 feet? I’m 5′7.” Box me out, nigga. You should have knocked me out for dolo, but 30 against two ain’t tough, nigga,” Ras continues. “I’m not a fake ass blood. I’m not a reinvented-ass rapper. I’m a nigga that went to prison and still wear sweaters, did two years and act like it’s nothing. He can’t out rap me, but I told him two years ago out of prison. You better catch me when you deep and I’m not if you got a problem with me. So he took my advice and I’m not mad at him.”

“They did not bust a bottle in my face. They hit me with the bottle and I have a lump. That ain’t tough. Tough niggas knock niggas out.”
“If Game is tough, tell him he can catch me any day and box me out. Tell The Game, and we not gon do no rapping about it. Aside form that, he just started some shit. This is not the end of it.”

Game didn’t reply, and although Ras has made it clear the beef will follow fisticuffs and not spill over onto wax, he has gone and written, recorded and released a diss track to Game. In a very short time. Almost as if he had nothing else to do.

It’s called Hush Little Baby and you know Game will respond.
