The Roots’ ?uestlove and James Poyser to re-work Pharrell’s In My Mind

Pharrell has announced he will re-release his brick album In My Mind in early 2007. The album has apparently been remixed with live instrumentation, replacing the original beats.

This is exactly what happened with the first N*E*R*D album In Search Of, which was not released in it’s original form. The tracks were remixed with band Spymob, and a hit album was produced.

This time around, the album will be executive produced by ?uestlove of The Roots, with the assistance of James Poyser. While the album will retain its original track listing, The Roots drummer and Poyser will add their own touch to the album’s various tracks.
