Canberra hip-hop DJ/MC combo D’Opus & Roshambo make their way to Melbourne packing some ACT funk for their launch of their debut EP ‘The Question’ at Revolver Upstairs on Friday January 12. Special guests include Low Def, Low Budget, Urban Monk and the legendary DJ John Idem. D’OPUS

Known for his ill soul, funk and hip-hop driven DJ sets both supporting the likes of Jungle Brothers, DJ Q-Bert, Mr. Thing, DJ Dopey, Andy Smith and De La Soul.

He has also been teaching DJ and Audio Mixing courses at CIT and local community centres and lending his studio expertise in recording, production and mixing for local musicians. At the same time D’O has been judging and competing in DJ competitions winning the ACT 2002 DMC Battle of Supremacy. On top of all that for a day job D’O spends his time as manager of the High-Tech and DJ Specialist section of Better Music. This man lives music.
ROSHAMBO

Roshambo is the co-host of Canberra’s longest running Hip-Hop radio show – Holy Calamity (broadcast on 2XX since 1999) and is the co-writer for the hip-hop column The Realness in the Canberra’s local street music press BMA. While Ro has been a great supporter of the local scene gaining attention for up and coming MCs and DJs on both radio and in print he has also been quietly working on his own skills as an MC occasionally appearing in the spotlight on stage with the likes of Koolism, Hospice and Rhyme-Ministers and on records with Convict and Tac-Tic-One.
