This week, super producer Timbo Da King told MTVNews that he will be Executive Producer on the new Jay album. He went on to say, “He(Jay-Z) wants me to do the whole thing this time around. I’mma make it a classic too. You better believe it. It’ll be a monster!” We all know Timbaland has been responsible for some Jay bangers in the past such as, “Big Pimpin’” and “Dirt Off Your Shoulders” but this will be the first time he has done a whole album for Hov. He told MTVNews later in the interview that, “I’mma have songs with bagpipes. The music is gonna be so worldwide, he’ll be able to tour the rest of his life, maybe, off just this one album. The Jay-Z album is gonna be phenomenal.”

Those are some pretty big words being spoken by Timbo. Although, Timbo’s credibility is immaculate and Jay’s consistency is a force to be reckon with I still wouldn’t put all my money in it just yet. Shock Value was an amazing album but we all know it was a little hard sitting through long enough to let it grow on us. And, don’t forget how Jay’s last joint made us wonder what happened to that classic Jay presentation? I mean once Jay did the BET special, explaining how he seen the album as a movie and broke it up into acts, we seen the album in a different light and it then became a great album.

Hopefully, this won’t be like the Lakers when they got Payton and Malone… that proved that you can in fact have too much of a good thing.
